What is the PCPNDT Act?
The Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994, is an Indian law enacted to prevent female foeticide and stop the misuse of diagnostic techniques for sex determination. It regulates the use of ultrasound and other prenatal diagnostic procedures across India, ensuring they are used only for legitimate medical purposes.

- Every patient undergoing a prenatal ultrasound is required to complete the relevant consent and declaration forms as mandated by law
